There has been a lot of discussion about Rihanna’s most recent video, Man Down. In the video Rihanna kills the man responsible for sexually assaulting her. The story follows a free-spirited, happy young woman throughout her day and into the night. After a night out, the perpetrator she flirted and danced with follows her, unbeknownst to her, and grabs her in a dark alley where he forces himself on her. After which, her “free-spirited innocence” has turned to pain and anguish. She then retaliates by shooting him in the streets.
